Staff Resources

** Staff applicants must be at least 17 years old and have completed their junior year of high school to be eligible to apply for the co-captain position; All first time staff members must be co-captains before being eligible to apply for any other staff postition** 
STAFF CAMP
Duration: June 26th - 28th
Registration opens at 11:30am Friday, June 26th 

Opening Ceremony starts 1:30pm Friday, June 26th
Camp officially ends 2:30pm Saturday, July 4th

STAFF POSITIONS AND EXPECTATIONS


*We expect a certain level of heart from all staff members as we will set the atmosphere for the incoming participants. Please read over the expectations of each role you apply for and be ready to fully commit to whatever your role requires. Thank you for wanting to serve your younger brothers and sisters!*
Captain/co-captain
Picture
Captain:
  • Be able to make it to the WHOLE staff workshop
  • Must have a willing heart to commit to your members = invest and love your members fully (this should ALWAYS be your priority)
  • Be prepared to lead group discussion after lectures and help guide members to absorb the lecture material
  • Attend staff meetings each night and be prepared to share about the day, about your members, and any concerns
  • Remember: your members look up to you, and watch your actions and behavior = be a positive and inspiring elder brother/sister that God can work through
Co-captain:
  • Be able to make it to the WHOLE staff workshop
  • Must have a willing heart to commit to your members = invest and love your members fully (this should ALWAYS be your priority)
  • Must have a willing heart to support and follow your captain – participate actively in group discussions and activities
  • Attend staff meetings each night and be prepared (sometimes) to share about the day, about your members, or any concerns
  • Remember: your members look up to you, and watch your actions and behavior = be a positive and inspiring elder brother/sister that God can work through
nurse
Picture
Nurse:
  • Be able to make it to the WHOLE staff workshop
  • Keep inventory of supplies and make sure all necessary medical items are present
  • Be prepared for emergencies and be present at all activities with emergency supplies
  • Continue to remind the camp about drinking enough water, using sunscreen, and other saftey precautions 
  • Attend staff meetings each night and be prepared to share about the day and about any concerns
Music

Music Staff:
  • Be able to make it to the WHOLE staff workshop
  • Be ready at least 5 minutes BEFORE each gathering to play music for singing songs
  • Communicate with the MCs about song selections well before gatherings (might even be better to know the song list for the day beforehand)
  • Practice often!
    • Remember: you all are setting the spirit and atmosphere before receiving a lecture or doing an activity
  • Attend staff meetings each night
  • Be willing be in charge of one of the challenge stations  
Activities
Picture
Head of Activities:
  • Be able to make it to the Core Staff Prep (3-4 days before the staff and participant workshop) AND the whole staff workshop
    • Be prepared to think (or already have a good amount) of ideas for activities AND challenge night stations – try to have these ideas closely connected to the theme as possible
    • Be willing to be in charge of one of the challenge stations  
  • Know what activities will be happening the day before and have an action plan for that day
    • Attend beginning of Core Staff meetings each night as well as the staff meetings (be prepared to share something about the day and any concerns)
  • Make sure that your members are focused, working and involved in preparing for the activities and the other activities’ responsibilities
  • Make sure that your members are attending the lectures  
  • Be able to designate jobs for your members to get things done efficiently and quickly
  • Clean up lecture hall and take out garbage each day

Activities Staff:
  • Be able to make it to the WHOLE staff workshop
  • Know what activities will be happening each day and have an action plan for that day
    • Also have morning exercises planned the day before
  • Be ready and willing at ANY time during the workshop to make preparations for the activities (especially challenge night preparations)
    • Be willing to be in charge of one of the challenge stations  
  • Make sure everything is ready to go BEFORE the activity
  • Must attend lectures when not preparing anything  
  • Referee / overlook while the activity is going on
  • Attend staff meetings each night
  • Clean up lecture hall and take out garbage each day
​Art

Head of Arts and Crafts:
  • Be able to make it to the WHOLE staff workshop
  • Have ideas BEFORE the actual workshop for arts and crafts activities – make sure ideas are connected with theme and report them to Core Staff
  • Communicate well with your members about your ideas and designating jobs
  • Be ready well before the art activity = have the shopping for supplies done beforehand
  • Be organized and efficient in distributing material and preserving pieces
  • Attend the beginning of Core Staff meetings and staff meetings each night
    • Be prepared to share something about the day or any concerns at the staff meetings

Arts and Crafts Staff:

  • Be able to make it to the WHOLE staff workshop
  • Be ready well before the art activity = have the shopping for supplies done beforehand
  • Be organized and efficient in distributing material and preserving pieces
    • Also, make sure that after the activity, everything is cleaned up and organized the way it was before
  • Attend staff meetings each night
  • Be willing be in charge of one of the challenge stations  
Logistics

General Staff:
  • Be able to make it to the WHOLE staff workshop
  • Be ready and willing at ANY time during the workshop to do miscellaneous things that need to get done throughout the workshop, for example:
    • Picking up and dropping off people from the airport = you are the key transporter (you will be driving quite a bit)
    • Helping activities staff with anything
    • Shopping for things that are needed
  • Be willing to be in charge of one challenge station
  • Attend staff meetings each night
Kitchen

Head Chef:
  • Be able to come for one day during the Core Staff Prep days (3-4 days before the staff and participant workshop) AND the whole staff workshop
    • Here, you’ll be making the menu for the whole workshop, and start shopping
  • Make sure everything is ready and you have everything you need for the next day the night BEFORE
  • Be able to designate jobs well for utmost efficiency and speed
  • Be willing to work/cook most of the day, and can work under pressure to get meals done on time with the schedule
  • Be ready and willing to wake up earlier in the morning to start breakfast
  • Keep kitchen area clean and organized
  • Attend the beginning of Core Staff meetings and staff meetings each night
  • Be responsible to prepare vegetarian dishes for those who are vegetarian

Kitchen Staff:

  • Be able to make it to the WHOLE staff workshop
  • Be willing to work/cook most of the day, and can work under pressure to get meals done on time with the schedule
  • Be ready and willing to wake up earlier in the morning to start breakfast
  • Keep kitchen area clean and organized
  • Unite and follow head chef
Photographer

Photographer(s):
  • Be able to make it to the WHOLE staff workshop
  • Be ready and willing to participate in all activities and lectures to capture awesome moments
  • Be willing to make the workshop slideshow/video to show at the end of the workshop
  • Attend staff meetings each night
MC
Picture
MC and Co-MC:
  • Be able to make it to the WHOLE staff workshop
  • Should do your best to inspire, excite, and uplift the spirits of the participants while onstage
  • Choose songs and prayer before gathering each time – talk with music staff beforehand as well  
  • Have punishments ready for participants who come late for gatherings
  • Know the schedule for each day very well
  • Constantly communicate with the Core Staff about updates and changes to the schedule
  • Participate in the Core Staff meetings every night (after the staff meeting)
    • At the staff meeting, be prepared to share something about the day and any concerns  ​
FEES
Staff - $20
​Kitchen - Free

** Payment may be made online or by card/cash at Staff Registration at camp. Checks will not be accepted. If paying with card, there will be an extra 3% service charge added to your fee **

Rolling Deadline: Sunday, May 24, 2020
To apply for staff, you will need to do two things:

 1) Sign a consent form
If you agree to an online consent form, READ and sign the online form below according to age (below or above 18). If you would rather a paper consent form, print the consent form below and bring it to camp. 
You will not be allowed to attend camp without a consent form.
